Amazing holiday , apartment was large, clean , quiet we had room 201 , beds comfortable , bathroom spotless , could not fault it , restaurant the food lovely , eat there a lot , staff all friendly ,bus service really good and bus stop just down the road, beach 10 minute stroll,lovely cake shop/ ice cream parlour over the road .the supermarket is walking distance .we hope to return next year

Stayed September 22. Holiday through Tui. Really nice family run hotel. Clean and tidy. Well presented. Has a large pool with a kiddie pool attached. Plenty of sun loungers. The restaurant provides Lovely large portion of food based around Greek-italian menu the pizzas are huge and are cooked in a real wood fire oven. The bar is open very late until everyone is gone. Very acomondating. Based in a quiet area. Close to the beach, but not on the beach as sold to us by Tui. Easy access via local busses to malia and herkalion. Limited Local eateries and shops, and nightlife is based in the hotel. All apartments have stairs to access rooms, not all with hand rails- this may cause issues if you have walking/ mobility problems. Overall a very enjoyable stay. A big thank you to all staff. …

Just back from our two week stay at ideal. We loved these apartments, we were met with a friendly welcome and shown to our spacious apartment. The apartments are basic but that is to be expected. They were cleaned regularly and we had fresh towels and bedding. The pool area was clean and quiet. We ate in the restaurant below the apartments many times and enjoyed the lovely home cooked traditional food. The location of the apartments it’s is on a main road but it’s not overly busy. The bus stop to Heraklion or or beach resorts along the coast is within metres of the hotel and us very cheap (1.90€ to Heraklion). The best beach close to the hotel the was the beach in front of of the Themis hotel, accessed from the side road next to the bakery opposite. Here you could use the sunbeds for the day for €5. The beach was clean and the water was beautifully clear. Kokkini hani is not a busy Beach Resort like some of the more well-known resorts along the coast. We enjoyed the lowkey tourism element of this place. Tip. Washing up liquid, soap and shower gel was not provided. Cups were tiny tea cups. Take your own or use supermarket down the road.…

A great holiday. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived at 1am. There was a great atmosphere in the hotel and the owners and all the staff were helpful and extremely friendly. This seemed to impact the other guests who were equally friendly. The rooms were clean and the sheets and towels were changed regularly. There was a wide range of home cooked food in the restaurant and everything we ate was cooked and served to a high standard. There were a wide range of tavernas and restaurants within walking distance though going in mid September these were generally quiet , in fact the liveliest place was the Ideal bar. The bar did stay open late but, was not loud and certainly didn’t keep us awake. The beach was a short walk away, was very clean and the the sunbeds were very reasonably priced. There was a good bus service, with a stop 100m from the apartments, so exploring the other towns and villages was easy. A great holiday thank you to everyone at the Ideal Apartments particularly Maria in the restaurant 😀.…

Arrived back yesterday from these ideal apartments s. When we first realized our room (115)was above the bar we thought not great but to be honest we hardly heard noise . Apartments were perfectly functional and cleaned regularly along with towel change. Cleaning ladies were brill, restaurant food was really tasty and just short stroll from beach and supermarkets . The further supermarket being the better.Only criticism was a toaster would have been very handy and a couple of loungers on our large terrace would have been great great. All in all all a great holiday. Thanks to Maria and her staff .

Great place for a holiday. This was our second visit , we came in 2019 and again September 2022 and we’re not disappointed. Always greeted no matter what time by friendly helpful owners. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t arrive till very late, but we still had a very helpful and friendly welcome. We stayed at the rear of the apartments as these are quieter . We paid extra for the air con and also for the safe and 6 bottles of water on the 1st night cost just over 50 euros. This time we had a apartment on the bottom floor which we found cooler. Apartments are very clean, they were cleaned every two days, cannot fault the standard of cleanliness. Staff are very hard working. Left a beautiful flower on my bed one day. All staff and owners are lovely friendly and helpful. If you need anything all you have to do is ask, nothing is too much trouble. We borrowed an iron. Food in restaurant is amazing, people not staying at the apartments travel to Ideal to eat as the food is so tasty . Good value too. Pool side clean, plenty of sun beds to use. Cocktails are very tasty I had the mojito and sex on the beach. They are strong. Lovely paths with flowers surround the apartments There is a bus stop 2 minute walk , you can catch the local bus to Heraklion for 3.80 Euros one way for two people. Regular buses. Palace of Knossos is well worth a visit, you can catch a local bus from Heraklion. We also went to Agios Nikolaos took just over one hour and worth a visit, using local bus which cost 11.40 one way for 2 people. You can pay cash on the bus ( they don’t except cards on the bus) or you can pay by card at bus stop 5 as there is a ticket machine. Plenty of bakery’s that have amazing cakes, ice cream etc. we used the beach but walked towards Gourves and used Minos bar sun beds as beach is quieter and Food and drinks are lovely and so are staff at Minos bar. Beach is clean and water in September warm Also worth a visit is Creta aquarium in Gourves only 10 Euros each and worth a visit…

Lovely hotel with an amazing pool and a authentic Greek taverna. The food was delicious and don’t forget to try the stifado and the pizzas! The staff was very helpful and kind. The beach is a 2 minute walk and there are 2 supermarkets down the road. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy their holidays

Firstly the family that own the apartments are so kind, I was met off the coach by Maria who made me feel so welcome. The food was very good, I ate here most evenings. Apartment was spotless and in very good condition. I didn’t pay for air conditioning and managed perfectly fine. Lots of cats everywhere, which I loved. Had to pay €10 to use the safe, late check out was €30. Two supermarkets up the road that sell everything you need. I made my own lunches and breakfasts. The best souvenir shop is opposite the Bazaar supermarket, I found the other shops more expensive. The bus service is excellent. They are modern coaches and you enter and exit via a hidden middle side door, not the drivers entrance. A conductor will ask you where you are going and you pay them, they also tell you when your stop is next. You must visit Gouves dog and cat sanctuary, it was the highlight of my holiday. I spent nearly an hour in the kitten enclosure. You can donate money on your way out if you want to, no obligation. My only gripe about the holiday was being pestered by a young man, not connected to the hotel but came with a tanker every few days to sort the drains/water etc. He literally pounced on me the minute he saw me asking me if I wanted a massage, he kept feeling my arm and wouldn’t take no for an answer. The second time he didn’t realise it was me and he jumped down near my terrace area and quickly retreated when he realised it was me! The hotel staff need to have words with this young man as I would hate to see any females harassed like I was. Other than that I thoroughly recommend the Ideal apartments.…

Fantabulous … The family behind this family hotel business just take this two-star-on-a-busy-street-with-no-direct-beachfront-hotel and elevate it to a wonderful extraordinary experience. Personal relaxed service, they really made us feel part of the family. All the usual’s like extra clean, completely relaxed but efficient approach to customers… you get the idea. On top of the this was our chance to get us four family members from UK, Canada and South Africa together for our post-pandemic med holiday. We had so many laughs amongst ourselves and with the hotel family. p.s Taverna food was amazing. Many thanks and greetings to Maria, Georgos, Pandelis, Kostas, Panos and all the rest of the great staff.

Just spent a lovely week in this lovely hotel. Room was big and clean with a really cute balcony that felt private and provided a shaded place to sit after a busy day sunbathing. Location was great with a supermarket near by and a fantastic beach about 5 minutes away. Also journey to and from the airport was very quick. Staff are friendly and helpful. All in all a wonderful place to stay.
