the accomodations were really good and we even had our own kitchen (5/5) the custumer service was exellent and she was really nice and smiley (5/5) the location wasn’t so good couse of all the cars that passed but it still was pretty good (4/5) the breakfast food was delicious and there was so many varieties of food from sweet to salty (5/5) in total i give Villa Gertrud 4.75/5 it was exellent

Location was very close to both Kolding station and Kolding city center. The location itself was in a more industrial area (the harbor is just across the street too) and there is a busy road right next to the house. However, you are provided earplugs that are in your room when you arrive, so that’s all fine. Personally I didn’t need the earplugs, but my boyfriend did. If you want to have a window open when you sleep you DEFINITELY need earplugs as the road and seagulls are quite loud. The house itself was old but in good condition and our room was nice, basically as we expected. It is a basic room with exactly the facilities you need. There were some dead flies in a lamp in our bathroom and some cobweb in the ceiling, but a part from that it was clean. The house is quite “loud” inside too meaning that you can easily hear people walking around and talking, but again you have the earplugs to help with that. We only stayed a night so we didn’t mind. The host was very kind and accommodating and I generally really recommend this bed and breakfast. DO keep in mind that you have to pay extra for the breakfast, which I don’t really think makes sense as it’s called a “bed and breakfast” it should be included with the room price. We decided to walk to a nearby bakery the following morning and have breakfast there instead, cheaper and also cozy to sit in a local bakery! :)…

The noise isolation is really bad, the B&B is located in a big road, with lots of traffic all night: ambulances, trucks, motorbikes… the place provides ear plugs but it is not comfortable and not enough. We stayed at the apartment (2 bedrooms with a very small kitchen and private bathroom) and the main room was extremely bright from 4am, the curtains were far too poor for the morning light. In one of the windows the curtain was actually too small to even cover it. The rooms are also really cold. The kitchen was very bad equipped, not even the essential was provided. On the good side the room was clean and the location, close to the city center, is good.

A great stay, with a nice hostess. The rooms are clean and charming, and the facilities are of a high standard. If you want a good and cozy place at a very fair price – Villa Gertrud is a great choice.

We stayed here for 1 night while driving through Denmark on our way to Berlin. We arrived late, but had gotten the code to the main door beforehand. Our room was unlocked as agreed. A very Nice bed and breakfast. The vibes are cool, the place is clean and the owner (Lisbeth) is very nice. The breakfast was Aldo very good. We recommend having a stay here.

This is a good B&B with a lovely and friendly owner. On the plus side: Affordable. Clean. Friendly and helpful owner. Guest kitchen. Well working free WiFi. Walking distance to central Kolding with restaurants, stores etc. Comfortable bed. Free parking close. Room for improvements: Bed was pretty small to be a double. An extra pillow would’ve been great. Bathroom very small and somewhat smelly; the ventilation isn’t great and it takes forever to dry up after a shower. A shelf in the bathroom would be nice, as extra hangers for towels (no place to hang your wet ones). Two towels (small and bigger) per person would be nice, plus one for the floor. No place to put your shoes or coats. No blinds for the windows; no way to shut the daylight out. Breakfast is “ok” but nothing extra. Location: lot of traffic noise. Right next to an emergency central with ambulances etc. Seagulls were driving us nuts too. The B&B provides ear plugs and I understand why. This is a nice place and with some pretty easy improvements it would be even greater. The friendly service makes up for a lot luckily. …
