Hovs Hallar

About

The rocky mountain creates a dramatic landscape with sea stacks, rocky hills and pebble beaches that lead the thoughts to the Spitsbergen. In the nature reserve many movies have been recorded over the years. The most famous movie scene is when death is playing chess against the knight on the beachmill in Ingemar Bergman’s “Seventh Seal”. In year 2017, Hovs halls were awarded the “Treasures of European Film Culture” venues with special cultural significance for the European film.

Beautiful surroundings, fabulous views. More info on trails in the area would have been nice. A bit crowded in the afternoon. Perfect outing with kids. (6 and 8)

In Hovs Hallar you have basically 2 routes to follow, one more rugged and intense, but short, and a second more flat and family friendly, but longer.
We took the longer route and we really had a great time.

A surprisingly rough stretch of coast. Great views and the landscape is eye catching. With a bit of a steep walk, partly almost climbing, you reach the water. We visited in s warm day so there was quite a lot of people sun bathing and swimming

This is magical place and honestly cant believe that Sweden can look like this too. I had so many wow moments since we park car. The nature is incredible! It is soooo different from anything I have seen in Sweden. The views are so stunning that you cant stop be amazed.
You park your car on top of the cliff and then you can walk down to sea. The walking is quite difficult (very very many rocks) but its really worth to see.
The only bad thing is that the rocks in the sea are so slippery that is very hard to get to or out of water. I have seen many people wearing shoes inside the water too. But even is quite impossible to swim there (unless you dont mind to jump to water from rocks and then somehow get back to beach :D) You must visit this place if you are around.

Hovs Hallar is absolutely stunning cliff formation and a must-see if you are in the area. We stayed here for 2 nights. The hike/walk is not really accessible with a stroller so if you are traveling with young children (like we were with our 1,5year old), you’ll end up carrying them.

Beautiful nature and stunning rock formations. You should take a hike around the area, or if you have a bit more time, even up till Börsap. If not make suer to climb through the rocks and also go up on the hills to get a better view on the cliffs.

Bring good shoes to walk in, and a camera, swimsuit and something to drink (in the summer)- this place is a nature exerience with a good vibe.

A magnificent landscape with high cliffs above the sea, moore walks, and a remarkable pebble beach. Take a swim if weather permits. And have a piqniq with a view!

Hovs Hallar was a place I always wanted to visit since moving to Sweden. My husband and I did it this summer. We camped and took a’ swing’ here. Have good shoes ready, loads of water, your swimsuit, even a picnic bag works. This landscape is so beautiful. One feels the ‘rawness’ of nature when here. The place is ‘untouhched’. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! 🙂 I will be back Hovs Hallar

We visited a hot July morning and one of us had a great time jumping from the cliff into the water. It takes appr. 10 minutes from the hotel to reach the water. Especially the last part is hard accessible.
