The location is good, you can walk to Las Ramblas when you go out, super convenient The counter service is good, CHECK IN and CHECK OUT will be available soon After CHECK OUT, you can also help with luggage, which is great The room is large, the bathroom is also large, and there are free toiletries, which is really convenient
We had 2 rooms booked for 4 males we seleceted for 2 single beds per room when we arrived they only had 2 rooms qith double beds not suitabale for 4 men to share. We asked for a refund and to leave they charged us £400.00 from the cash we paid in and out of the £1400 we paid for 4 nights and are still awaiting a refund for a remaining £350 after 11 days please check rooms before giving payment.
The hotel’s location is very salubrious and convenient to all the attractions, La Ramblas, El Corté Englés, and Plaça de Catalunya. The entry to the metro is direct across the street. I booked a single room using the hotel’s site and deferred payment to the arrival day. I got on the Aerobus (6.75 Euro one way) from the airport, got off at the 3rd stop (Universitat), and walked a short distance to the hotel. Upon arrival, the affable front-desk agent named Juseus checked me in, processed my payment, provided me with relevant information, and even accompanied me to the elevator. The spacious room had plenty of closet space, complimentary tea and coffee service, and space to sprawl. The layout bifurcates into a living quarter and the vanity area with a sliding door—great selections of toiletries (toothbrush and toothpaste included). The breakfast consists of chef service, hot dishes, cold cuts, decent fruit selections, cereals, nuts, pastries, a fresh juice-making machine, a variety of juice bottles, mineral water, and plenty of hot beverages. The obliging dining room staff continuously remove used dishes and help guests with their needs. I highly recommend this hotel and will book again if I return to Barcelona.…
Location good but , Leaking toilet, hot room took half day to cool, main photo shows indoor pool but not the extra charge of 15 per hour when the room was high cost. 22 for simple continental breakfast. One of the days the room not cleaned until 17:00 we had to ask and leave while they cleaned so we were late meeting our friends. Gym has grand total of 3 machines.
We booked 1 night at this hotel via the hotel’s website, we paid the 1st night in full and all we had to pay was the tourist tax. We checked into the hotel and May at front of desk confirmed the stay had been in full except for the tourist tax. We opted to have the tourist tax added to our bill. During our stay we had drinks totalling 30€ and with the 6.90€ tourist tax, our bill when we checked out should have been 36.90 + 3.60 tax, bringing the total due to 40.50€. However when my husband paid the bill we were charged 59.61€. I queried the bill with the front of desk and staff that I had thought were really nice turned quite offensive and accused me of trying to avoid paying the tourist tax and the drinks. Eventually they told me that I had to pay taxes on my room rate. I checked my email and went back to reception to show that my rate included taxes, again front of desk said I had to pay the tourist tax and my drinks. I was very clear that I was more than happy to pay the 40.50€ but I felt I was being cheated by being charged the 59.61€. On the 3rd attempt the front of desk Manager and another member of staff came and spoke to us whilst we were sitting at the bar. The excuse for the overpayment was that their reservation system had undercharged at the time of booking. Now if this was the case why did May advise us that the room had been paid in full except for the tourist tax. I was totally appalled at the treatment I received from the front of desk manager she was shouting at me and I asked her to leave as she was totally ruining the end of my holiday. She continued to shout at me and eventually left, the whole experience was extremely embarrassing. I just wanted to leave the hotel and I certainly did not want to ever return. I was prepared to put the overcharge down to experience. I however was extremely annoyed to find that the following day 5.39€ had been charged to my credit card, it took several emails before I was advised that the charge was for Coke Zero and 2 cookies that we had taken from the minibar in the room. Each email I was very clear that I had not taken anything form the minibar and it was only when I advised that I would be raising a dispute with my bank and would post my experience on Trip Adviser that they eventually agreed to refund the charge. To date though I have not received any apology for the suggested undercharge nor any explanation for why they felt it was acceptable to add the undercharge to my bill without any explanation. I certainly will never stay at this hotel again and I will book through a 3rd party rather than via a hotel site. This was a very disappointing end to our holiday. …
It is an ultra-central hotel, very close to the most famous market. Breakfast is premium, generous bathrooms with quality cosmetics! The staff is extremely involved and solves any requirement. Late-checkout is allowed until 14:00, possibly with a fee of 10 euros.
My wife’s birthday, I had to find the perfect hotel. ( I looked at over 20 hotels in the area) this one I choose!!! From check in to check out staff were helpful, room was clean nice. Spa was great, ( make sure you book ) location was perfect, plenty coffee shop’s, restaurants, clothes shopping and more. You will not be disappointed.. only thing I had to look twice at was the price of the mini champagne bottle (18 euro) I wiped my eyes lol All In all this one was a great stay. Appreciate it
Very dissapointed with the hotel spa! We had booked a couple massage but when we arrived, we found out that someone else had lied about his identity and had taken our spot… Granted, it wasn’t the Spa’s fault. However, the young masseuse at the desk just laughed at the situation and told us to book another day!!! We had to insist for her to go to the massage room where her colleague, Eleonora, had started working on the “trespassor”. Eleonora, much more professional, solved the problem, sent the “trespassor” home, and we finally qot our 1 hour massages, in a reduced version as they were closing… The 2 massages were not great, the towels had an unpleasant smell, and the music was too loud. Not a relaxing atmosphere to say the least! I would advise them to use essential oils on their towels, and to choose relaxing, soft New Age music instead of Spanish songs. The following day we found a lovely spa, the Born Studio on carrer de Roger de Lluria, near la Pedrera, which does amazing massages, as well as manicure and waxing. A true affordable gem! The Alegria Spa does have a small inside pool or rather a big jaccuzzi, and a steam room that you can use before or after your massage, but it does feel crowded and cavernous. We won’t be back…
It´s a very good hotel. But I had a bad experience, unfortunately. One day after I left Catalonia Ramblas, I noticed I had forgotten my e-book in the room. I sent a message to the hotel and they just ignored it. A few days later, I was again in Barcelona and went to the hotel. The employees said that my request shoud to be done by the same e-mail I had tried three times. They even laugh a little of my request. Well, they hadn´t done any effort to help me. Very sad.
I travelled to 3 different cities in Spain this time, and this Hotel is the best. I like the fact that that they separate the washroom and bathroom, so I could brush my teeth when my friend was taking a shower. Also the two single bed is larger in size compared to other hotels I stayed. The view is good. We overlooked the patio. The staff, especially the reception, is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it. Last but not the least, the location is good. It is in city center and also quiet at night. The curtain blocks out the light outside pretty well.
