We stayed for a week recently and thought the hotel was excellent. All the staff were really friendly, the chap on reception (possibly called Vincente?) was super helpful, simply couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was good and plentiful. A good choice of foods with some rotation during the week. The breakfast room staff were very polite and welcoming. (I question the review around breakfast not having much and saying they went at 9:30, not sure what they expect with 30 minutes to go? Get up earlier!) Rooms are a good size, are very well kept and cleaned every day (as you’d expect but some hotels don’t!). I had my birthday whilst away and when we got back to the room on the evening of my birthday there was an ice bucket with a bottle of bubbly and 2 glasses waiting along with a birthday card! They must have got my birthday from my passport! What a lovely gesture. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Budapest, on the Buda side and near to the Castle District. It’s only 5 minutes walk to the Chain Bridge / Clark Adam Square where you cross over the Danube into the Pest side of the city. At the time of writing pedestrians can’t walk over the bridge but you can get any of the buses from Clark Adam Square for FREE if you’re just getting off at the first stop. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again without question. …

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Hotel was tastefully fully decorated, full of character and well kept. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. The hotel is in a great location for a tourist. Thoroughly recommend for using while in Budapest.

This gem is on the Buda side and is very close to Buda Castle. The hotel has a calm and peaceful vibe. – tastefully blending old and new. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Reka who helped us with a number of things- nothing was a bother. On Christmas morning there were delightful Gingerbread decorations with a Christmas note tied to our door handles- thank you. Highly recommend a stay here.

I spent 2 nights with my 11yo children. We overall liked the hotel, it is a historical monastery building and you can see it when you are in the hallways. The rooms are modern and spacious enough: we had a family apartment consisting in a first room with a sofa bed and a second room with a double bed. The bathroom is amazing, huge and well decorated. The staff was great for some, really not agreeable for others. The breakfast is not okay, we went around 9.30 the first morning and most of the plates were empty (and not refilled), the coffee machine did not work, the choice is very limited, the croissants are awful……the next morning we went at 9.00 hoping for a better service, there we were not greeted properly the staff was unfriendly claiming there was no available table (although there was one but not cleaned) and sending us to the other room, the variety was still poor and the quality way below expectations. All 3 of us were really disappointed. After this long message a little tip : on the opposite side of the road there is a small Asian place, with a couple preparing the food, we found it really good food for the value.…

Thank you for your hospitality. The breakfast was plentiful. The buffet table and the tables are tidy and clean. The lady with black long zsír was vers kind and helpful. She welcomed is vers kindly. It was a good rest,és enjoyed ourselves ín your hotel ín Bp.

It took us a while to get here, as we originally booked for May 2020, then 2021 and third time lucky we made it. The Buda side of the river suited us fine. This was a historic building to stay in and the church remains alongside. The hotel is well appointed and everything worked. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. The location is good with the steps up to Fisherman’s Bastion just outside the rear garden exit. The hotel is one block from the River (and thus close to the trams). Indeed there is a station for the hotel situated between the metro and the chain bridge. The chain bridge is currently closed, so it is not so easy to walk across to the Pest side, but the purchase of a day tram ticket (1630 HUF)- which is exceptional value – solves this. I found the hotel staff very keen to help and this also included the email conversations necessary, each time we had to delay our visit. The hotel arranged minibus transfers to/from the airport and this worked well (40 mins) and was not too expensive. Breakfast for me was a treat each day – it is the most important start of the day for me when traveling, but I need to avoid bread/croissants. I was not disappointed with the choices (cereals, fruit juices, fruit, cooked breakfast items, ham and cheese and toast/bread rolls). Regarding restaurants, there are many in the area of all cuisines and budgets. Thank you Monastery for everything.…

We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at the hotel, and thanks to the extremely friendly and thoughtful staff and the unique atmosphere of the hotel, our stay was unforgettable!:) We got an extravagant suite overlooking the Danube -even champagne with a nice card- so everything was perfect! We’ve stayed in many hotels before, but none of them had this really guest-friendly attitude! We are hoping to return here someday and we recommend the place for everyone who would like to have an unforgettable stay in a building full of history!:)

Very pleased with this hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The reception staff were fantastic. We’d forgotten a phone charger and asked where the nearest shop was to buy one. The receptionist let us borrow a spare from reception which was very much appreciated. The breakfast was good with a wide selection of baked goods and a good choice of milk for various dietary requirements. In terms of nightlife the location was rather quiet however that’s not the hotel’s fault and I suspect many places are still closed due to the pandemic. That said it was ideally located for the old town area and visiting the castle. I would highly recommend for a sightseeing break.

We stayed here for 5 nights. We had a double room and it was quite spacious, very clean and well laid out. The staff were friendly and responded well to questions. The breakfast was buffet and although it catered for the international market, the choices were quite small. We had one evening meal there and a small menu but then food was good.

My wife and I recently stayed at your hotel. I am writing to let you know how wonderful Ildiko at the front deck is. From the moment we checked in she was so cheerful and very very helpful in helping to plan out our days while we were there. On our last day we received covid test results for our flight home and my wife’s came with her name spelled wrong and her passport number wrong, she was panicked. Ildiko immediately got on the phone and started making calls and somehow on a Saturday found someone that would correct this for us. We were resigned to thinking we would just have to try to explain at the airport and hope for the best but even after we had left the hotel Ildiko continued to work on this until she got a correct results page emailed to us lifting a great weight off my wife’s shoulders. I have travelled ex.tensively and stayed in a number of hotels never have I had anyone jump in to solve a problem on my behalf like Ildiko did. You have a star employee in her. Please give Ildiko our best and once again thank her on our behalf. Terry and Donna Johnson …
